Diruktober Day 22: Phenomenon

     Diruktober is a DIR EN GREY themed inktober challenge by re_be_ka_f. I chose to use them as writing prompts to join in on the fun. 

DIR EN GREY - Phenomenon (Arche, 2016 Nippon Budokan Day 1)


It was easy to let Him control his life. He guided him as a pawn. His life now belonged to this ghoul to which he had dedicated himself. Of course, should he stray from the path that He set out before him, he'd be rewarded by visions as he tried to sleep of the ghoul pulling him back to force him to watch as He chomped through the heads of others that betrayed him. 
He was a controlling beast. 
When he chose not to ignore the advances of the object of his desire, the ghoul repaid him in forcing him to watch as he chewed her face open. He cracked her skull open with a tooth anchored onto the bone of her brow and stuck his prehensile tongue into her brain to scoop it out piece by piece. 

"You will never betray me." all four of his eyes warned in their gaze alone. 

He never did again. 
In fact, when he actively indulged the ghoul he was rewarded, too. That same tongue would circle him and pull him down through his sheets, his mattress, down below the membrane of reality in which he was separated from the world. The ghoul preferred him alone and lavished him in praises of the most taboo nature. The Ghoul showed otherworldly pleasures both physical and mental that were scrubbed clean of his body once he was returned. 

It was under the spell of a ghoul's tongue that he loyally lived his life.

   China is self-contained. While VPNs have bred accessibility to the internet from within the country, the culture is still largely self-referential in a place that has made it difficult to rely on or relate to a lot of outside information. I Bought a New EP.

  I had said I would stop writing about music, and to a great extent, I have. I no longer review music or interview artists, as I have found that people hold it so dearly that it rarely matters what anyone has to say. Things like being objectively good don't matter, and I think that goes for all art. All art is beloved by someone. Good or bad, it can be charming and entertaining without necessarily having any merit. None of this has anything to do with this EP, I'm just re-introducing myself to writing about other artists with this preface. I don't want to act like I'm some authority on what bad or good means. I'm just enjoying things and wanted to remind people that it's okay not to take yourself too seriously. With that said, I recently acquired Petit Brabancon's new EP, AUTOMATA, and I wanted to talk about my experience with it. May You Find Your Roots Wherever You Walk (I'm Moving)

I'm moving again. I think it's time. Will I stay?  Staying never really seemed possible at all here, but I felt true contentment when here in the U.S. with my family.  The only reason I came here at all was because of a string of unfortunate events in my bad luck and extra theatrically bad timing. The pandemic and some poor decisions had bankrupted me. I risked it all in an expensive move and the very same day our first lockdown (and very first COVID case) occurred.
